CHILDERSBURG, Ala. –  Kymulga Grist Mill is hosting open mic night on the creek bank.

Open mic night is a weekly event hosted by the Kymulga Grist Mill in Childersburg and is in its second year.

The event takes place every Tuesday night starting around 6 p.m. in the screened-in pavilion, located beside the creek bank.

Mic night is free and open to the public.

It started out with a small audience, but it has picked up a great deal of momentum and grown over the past few months.

“Each week there are several performers and a good sized audience,” said organizer Libby Barden. “It started out with a small audience, but it has picked up a great deal of momentum and grown over the past few months. Anyone that wants to get on stage and perform can do so.”

Each week, there is a fish fry and plates can be purchased for a $5.00 donation to the Mill.

Open mic night gives local talent the opportunity to showcase their talent.
