TALLAPOOSA COUNTY, Ala. – The Tallapoosa County Sheriff’s Department made three arrests on May 2 as a result of Operation Southern Impact III.
Operation Southern Impact III launched four months ago and resulted in three days of search warrant executions, undercover operations, arrests and sex offender compliance verification visits in eight states, including Alabama.
Jamie Ryan Haggerty, 41; Jaric Reyde Johnson, 18; and John Mark Stough, 51, were arrested in Tallapoosa County as a result of search warrants being executed.
Haggerty, of Jacksons Gap, was charged with Possession/Distribution of Child Pornagraphy. He was released from the Tallapoosa County Jail on a $30,000 bond.
Johnson, of Alexander City, was charged with Electronic Solicitation of a Child. He was released from the Tallapoosa County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
Stough, of Dadeville, was charged with Marijuana 2nd degree. He was released from the Tallapoosa County Jail on a $2,000 bond.
The Tallapoosa County Sheriff’s Department, state Internet Crimes against Children’s Task Force (ICAC) members, Jackson’s Gap Police Department and Camp Hill Police Department combined to help make the arrests.
The multi-state/agency operation made 82 arrests, and 24 pieces of evidence was seized for examination. According to the Tallapoosa County Sheriff’s Department, this is expected to bring additional charges and include the possibility of identifying additional victims.
