CLAY COUNTY, Ala. – A multi-jurisdictional operation has led to the arrest of two people in Clay County on drug trafficking and other related charges.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) Narcotics Division executed a warrant on a home on New Prospect Road on Friday, March 27 in connection with a current narcotics investigation. Inside the home, authorities found and seized multiple firearms, a large amount drugs and more than $11 thousand.
Justin Jay Whaley and James Elvin Cook were both arrested on drug trafficking charges. Both were charged with Trafficking Methamphetamine, Trafficking Fentanyl, Possession of Marijuana 1st Degree, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Certain Persons Forbidden to Possess a Pistol.
Clay County Sheriff Henry Lambert expressed his thanks to the agencies that assisted in the operation, which include the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, Lineville Police Department, Ashland Police Department, Oxford Police Department, Clay County Rescue Squad, and the Clay and Coosa County District Attorney’s Office.
