DADEVILLE, Ala. – A Tallapoosa Co. man has been found dead after he went missing from his residence on Aug.12.
According to the Tallapoosa County Sheriff’s Department, 68-year-old Dwight Smith was reported missing from his residence on Slaughter’s Cross Road in Dadeville by a family member on Thursday, Aug. 16.
An investigation revealed Smith had been missing since Sunday, Aug. 12.
Today, Aug. 20, at approximately 9:40 in the morning, Smith was found deceased in a wooded area near his residence.
The case is still under investigation and the Tallapoosa County Sheriff’s Department is awaiting results of an autopsy from the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences.
