SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The legacy of the Miss Sylacauga and Miss Sylacauga’s Teen competitions will continue Saturday, Oct. 4 at 6:00 p.m. at Sylacauga High School.
For decades, the program has ranked among Alabama’s top preliminary competitions for awarding cash scholarships and in-kind donations, thanks to the generosity of local businesses and citizens. Those contributions have helped contestants from the Sylacauga area further their education, often fully covering tuition costs.
Former Miss Sylacauga Anna Comer credited the program with fully paying for her Birmingham-Southern College tuition.
Community members can support the program through the Maxye Veazey Patron’s Scholarship, general donations, or in-kind gifts. Supporters who donate by Saturday, Sept. 20 will be recognized in the event program book and on MissSylacauga.com, with additional benefits available by sponsor level.
Pre-sale tickets will be available soon on their website as well. Donations may be made online here or mailed to:
Miss Sylacauga, Sylacauga Parks & Recreation
2 West 8th St.
Sylacauga, AL 35150.
