Marble City Pharmacy to expand with a drive-thru planned; here’s what customers need to know

SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Marble City Pharmacy has been in business in Sylacauga for 19 years last Friday, and now it is finding a way to better meet the needs of the people it serves.

Owners Jacob and Jared Johnson told SylacaugaNews.com the primary question they are asked on a daily basis is, “when are you getting a drive-thru?”

The brothers’ answer to that question is soon.

Over the next few months, Marble City Pharmacy will undergo a major renovation, expanding the size of the pharmacy and gift shop, while making it possible to serve customers with the one thing the Johnsons know they certainly need – a drive-thru window. The process will start later this month.

Marble City Pharmacy already offers in-store and curbside pick-up, and prides itself on the timeliness of its free home delivery service. However, a drive-thru window that will allow people to drop off and pickup prescriptions without ever leaving their vehicles will be a welcomed sight for customers.

“Our goal is to create a better experience. We want to make it as easy as possible for our customers to get their prescriptions, while also receiving the service we pride ourselves on at the same time,” said Jared Johnson. “We’ve wanted and needed a drive-thru for a while, but it wasn’t really possible until the space next door became available.”

The pharmacy’s plan is to expand into what was Acceptance Loan Company, incresing its space from 4,000 sq. ft. to 6,000 sq. ft. While construction is ongoing, the pharmacy will be five doors down in the same shopping center, Ogletree Plaza, where it can still offer its customers the same services. In addition to a drive-thru, the renovations will bring new gift lines, expanded clinical space, and a redesigned workflow to serve customers quicker.

“When the renovations start, its important to us to make sure we are still upholding the same standard in service,” Jacob Johnson explained. “While construction is happening, all of our fantastic services will still be available.”
