SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Marble City Baptist Church and Nashburg Studios will be hosting a country Christmas concert in memory of famous song writer, Troy Jones.
The event will be Dec. 20th at 5:30 p.m. This is a free Christmas concert featuring musicians and vocalists from Nashburg studios, Marble City Baptist Church, and elsewhere.
All musicians involved are friends and acquaintances of the late Troy Jones.
Jones was mostly known in Sylacauga for his success in writing country music. However, Jones spent the last several years of his life using his talents to worship God. He played an integral part in starting this “Country Christmas” singing last year, and told many of us that he wanted to do it again.
“We want to honor that request, and do it well,” said Marble City Baptist Church Minister of Music, Mickey Green. “Our goals for this night are to worship our Lord, remember our friend, and have a lot of fun along the way.”
Donations are not required but will be received for the International Mission Board (Lottie Moon Christmas Offering). Funds given to the IMB are for the purpose of reaching the world with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
There will be Christmas dinner and fellowship time after the event.
