CHILDERSBURG, Ala. – The Alabama Department of Corrections is asking for public assistance in locating an escaped inmate in Childersburg.
Leon Michael Jolly, a 54-year-old black male, is approximately 5’8″ tall and weighs 240 pounds. Jolly is wanted for escape from the Childersburg Community Work Center located at 13501 Plant Rd.
Jolly is currently serving a 30-year prison sentence for murder.
On Wednesday evening, May 24, at around 2:33 p.m., Jolly reportedly walked away from his assigned squad, and at the time of this writing, his whereabouts are unknown.
