ALEXANDER CITY, Ala. – Facial coverings will be required at Central Alabama Community College this fall.
The school made the announcement in a press release this morning.
In its reopening plan for the fall semester, the college detailed the policies and procedures that all students and employees will adhere to while being on any campus or location this fall, including wearing a face covering. The change is effective immediately.
The release states, “Effective Monday, Aug. 9, 2021, all employees, students, and visitors must wear face coverings/masks while indoors and should adhere to social distancing guidelines until further notice.”
“We are excited to be back on campus for fall semester,” Jeff Lynn, president of CACC stated. “It has been a very challenging year for everyone. There are still challenges in dealing with this pandemic, but we want to give our students the best college experience possible, all while adhering to the guidelines and protocols set forth in our new plan.”
The College Pandemic Emergency Response Team will continue to meet and review and monitor updates to safety guidelines. There is a copy of the complete reopening plan attached to this release.
Fall semester begins on Monday, Aug. 16.
