TALLADEGA, Ala. – In a video released on social media, local attorney Ben Robbins announced that he has officially registered to run for the Alabama State House of Representatives for District 33, which is currently held by Ron Johnson.
Robbins said he is a political outsider bringing fresh, conservative ideas to the area. He said he has plans to tackle the issues that have plagued District 33. He claims those issues are the economy, the lack of reliable broadband and increasingly declining infrastructure.
“I want to bring a fresh perspective to our district,” said Robbins. “I have relentless energy and am ready to tackle our problems head on.”
“I believe that our district has a greater potential, which is certainly achievable,” said Robbins. “The only way to reach a brighter future, where our children and grandchildren can prosper, is with fresh ideas that when combined with bold leadership and true conservative values, will create the foundation of success in our area.”
Johnson, the current representative for the district, has held the office for 40 years.
Robbins said, “Our district needs innovative conservative representation, a relentless worker, and a servant-leader. I look forward to guiding our district to a brighter future.”
The Republican primary vote will be on June 5, 2018.
