BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Last week the Sylacauga High School boys basketball team (27-6) defeated Calera in the Regional Semifinals to advance to the Final Four in Birmingham at the BJCC.

On Wednesday, Feb. 28 at 7:30 p.m., Sylacauga will take on its arch rival Talladega Tigers with a championship game appearance in class 5A on the line.

The Aggies have had miracles on their side this postseason, no miracle bigger than Darian Garrett’s three pointer at the buzzer in the Regional Semifinals versus Booker T. Washington (Tuskeegee) in Montgomery.

A miracle in itself was the amount of free throws Sylacauga hit in the final minute versus Calera to preserve a 70-65 victory over the Eagles.

In Wednesday’s game, Sylacauga may need another miracle as it is 0-3 versus Talladega on the season up to this point. Both the Tigers and the Aggies are making a second consecutive appearance in the Final Four. Both teams lost in the semifinal round last season.
