CHILDERSBURG, Ala. – On Saturday, April 2, a 5K race and one-mile fun run/walk will be hosted by the Childersburg Kiwanis Club.
The 5K will start early around 7:45 a.m. with the fun run set to begin fifteen minutes later at 8:00 a.m. Registration and check-in will start at 6:30 a.m.
If you register before the deadline of this Friday, March 25, the cost is $25 and you are reserved a 5K t-shirt. If you register the day of, the cost goes up to $30 and no t-shirt is guaranteed.
The money raised from the event will go towards specifically maintaining and potentially expanding the Kiwanis Park located beside the police station in downtown Childersburg.
“The event will provide families with a fun morning of exercise while raising money for the local community,” said Janice Grohs, Kiwanis Club of Childersburg president.
The race is still searching for sponsors. If a business chooses to sponsor, its logo will be placed on the t-shirt as well as throughout the race path.
