CHILDERSBURG, Ala. – Just after 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28, the Childersburg Police Department was summoned to the intersection of Ferry Rd. and US Hwy 280, where multiple reports had been made of firearm discharges.
Upon arrival, officers found multiple individuals shooting firearms at each other.
One person, a 16-year-old juvenile female, was struck by gunfire and subsequently transported to Coosa Valley Medical Center (CVMC) by private vehicle prior to the arrival of officers. She suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Three businesses and the same number of vehicles were also struck by gunfire.
Arrests were made by the Talladega County Drug and Violent Crime Task Force during a related disturbance at CVMC, along with a charge of Possession of Marijuana.
Police Investigators are combing through available video surveillance from the shooting scene to determine both the number of perpetrators involved as well as their identities.
