SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Republican Dale Price, a long-time lawyer in Sylacauga, has announced that he will be a candidate for District Judge, Place 2 in Talladega County. Price will stand for election in the May 19, 2026 Republican Primary in his bid to keep the seat that Governor Kay Ivey appointed him to in January 2024.
Judge Price is a lifelong resident of Sylacauga. He is the son of the late Roger and Patricia Price of Childersburg. Judge Price is a graduate of Sylacauga High School, Huntingdon College in Montgomery, and the University of Alabama School of Law. Judge Price is married to Amy Shipley Price, formerly of the Memphis, TN area. Judge Price and his wife are the proud parents of University of Alabama junior Lily Frances Price and freshman Catherine Price.
Judge Price practiced law in Sylacauga for nearly 30 years before taking the bench. During his time in practice, he served countless individuals and businesses, including serving for many years as prosecutor in Sylacauga Municipal Court, where he earned a reputation as particularly tough on repeat offenders. Throughout his career, he has been a staunch advocate for the rights and welfare of children who are drawn into the legal system because of family situations.
“Governor Ivey’s appointing me to the bench has been the highest professional honor of my life. I am especially proud to have been able to continue protecting children since taking the bench. I absolutely have the best job in the world, and I humbly ask each of you to let me keep it for a full term. Please vote for me in the May 19, 2026 Republican Primary,” said Price.
Judge Price is a long-time member of the Sylacauga Civitan Club, where, on any given Saturday, he might be spotted with his fellow Civitans building a wheelchair ramp for someone in the community in need. Judge Price has previously served as President of the Talladega County Bar Association and was elected by his peers to serve as Secretary of the Alabama Juvenile Judges Association. The Price family attend church regularly and are involved in multiple other civic and charitable organizations in Sylacauga and around the state.
