SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Dr. Rick Redmond completed a 20-year dream on Friday.
Redmond added 3,000 square feet to his practice, Redmond Family Dentistry, including seven operatory rooms and three restrooms. The practice celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house.
“It’s really been wonderful,” said Redmond. “The whole process has gone surprisingly smooth. I’ve always dreamed about this for 20-plus years. I’ve been here for 26, so to finally see it come to fruition is just really amazing.”
In addition to expanding the building, Redmond also expanded his staff, adding Dr. Casey Price to the team.
“I’m super excited to be back home at my hometown, and I’m excited to learn from Dr. Redmond and all the girls here at the office,” said Price. “They are a great group. I’ve kind of worked around the city and know a lot of the practices and this one has been the best fit for me.”
Redmond said the timing worked out for Price to join the team.
“I had originally wanted to wait a couple of years to kind of get everything ironed out with the new building,” Redmond said. “I found out that she was graduating from dental school, and, like I said, she had been in dentistry for so long, so she knows so much already. Our personalities meshed, and it just looks like it is going to be wonderful.”
From contractors to financing, the Sylacauga community played a role in the practice’s renovation, and Redmond wanted it to be that way.
“I’ve been here for 26 years, and I love what I consider my hometown now, even though I wasn’t from here originally,” Redmond said. “We tried to use, and we did use local contractors, subcontractors, local bank for the financing. I’ve tried to keep it all at home.”
