SYLACAUGA, Ala. – A special general election for District 33 of the Alabama House of Representatives has been called for Tuesday, Jan. 19 to fill a vacant seat.

Fred Crum (D) and Ben Robbins (R) will be the names on the ballot on Tuesday.

The elected candidate will represent Clay, Coosa, and Talladega Counties in District 33.

The seat became vacant after State Rep. Ron Johnson passed away in July 2020.

Primary special elections were canceled after only one candidate filed for the Democratic and Republican parties.
