SYLACAUGA, Ala. – On Tuesday morning, March 26, Heritage South Credit Union (HSCU) celebrated its expansion efforts with the grand opening of its new data center, commemorated by a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce.
The culmination of efforts to enhance the credit union’s infrastructure and services at its Hwy 280 branch were honored at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday.
Among the attendees were local officials, business leaders, HSCU board members that were all eager to witness the unveiling of the credit union’s latest development.
“We’re glad to be able to celebrate not necessarily new beginnings, but a new area for the support staff that we have,” said CEO Jamie Payton. “It’s a great space. We’re very excited about it.”
The newly constructed data center provides expanded office space and additional meeting areas. Constructed by MJ Brooks & Son, the facility will house critical departments including IT, collections, accounting, and the Hwy 280 branch’s call center.
Founded in 1937 as the Avondale Employees Federal Credit Union, Heritage South Credit Union has grown to become a pillar of financial stability in the Coosa Valley region, boasting over $160 million in assets and serving more than 14,000 members across several counties.
