ALEXANDER CITY, Ala.- Heritage South Credit Union has served East-Central Alabama for the last 80 years. The financial institution has two locations in Sylacauga, one in Childersburg, and another in Moody. On Friday at noon, HSCU held its grand-opening and ribbon cutting celebration for its newest location in Alexander City.
Many members from the community and members from the Alexander City Chamber of Commerce attended HSCU’s fifth branch opening celebration that featured prize giveaways and refreshments. Although officially celebrating its entrance into the Alexander City community on Friday, HSCU has been a part of the community for years. The name Heritage South Credit Union may be new to Alexander City community, but its values are not. HSCU was formerly in Alexander City as Avondale Credit Union and the same characteristics Avondale Credit Union boasted are portrayed by HSCU.
Marketing Director for the Alexander City Chamber of Commerce Kim Dunn told SylacaugaNews.com HSCU joined the chamber two years ago in anticipation of opening a branch in the area. “We’re excited to see HSCU finally come to Alexander City. We are excited HSCU has gotten so involved with the chamber and the community, and we know our community is going to love doing business with this organization,” Dunn explained. “We hope everyone comes out, sees what HSCU has to offer and takes advantage of its services.”
“We are glad to here in Alexander City,” stated Jamie Payton. Payton is the CEO of Heritage South Credit Union. “We have a following here. Alexander City is a great city that is growing and we look forward to serving Alexander City and Tallapoosa County.”
