HARPERSVILLE, Ala. – The Town of Harpersville is reviewing engineering work tied to a consultant recently convicted on federal corruption charges related to a separate project in Mississippi.
On Friday, July 18, Harpersville officials were notified that Milton Warnock, an employee of the town’s outside consulting firm, Engineering Solutions, was convicted in connection to actions taken while working in Canton, Miss., between 2016 and 2017.
Although Warnock’s previous misconduct does not involve Harpersville projects directly, town officials, including Mayor Theoangelo Perkins and the Town’s attorney, are conducting a review of his work to ensure all projects remain in compliance.
Warnock worked on several Harpersville projects as part of Engineering Solutions, which serves the town as an independent contractor.
“As a result of these events, the Town is conducting a comprehensive review of all work Mr. Warnock performed on Harpersville projects to ensure integrity and compliance with our standards,” the Town stated in a release.
The audit is expected to be completed quickly. Town officials noted that operations remain uninterrupted.
“The Town of Harpersville operates with complete transparency and the highest standards of integrity,” the statement read. “We will take any necessary corrective actions based on the findings of our review.”
Officials said the town remains committed to accountability in all municipal affairs.
