CHILDERSBURG, Ala. – A big industrial announcement came during the Childersburg City Council work session prior to the Tuesday, July 2 regular meeting. ARC Robotics will be breaking ground on a new 17,000 square-foot industrial facility on Plant Rd. on Thursday, Aug. 8, at 8:30 a.m.
The company builds, programs, and maintains industrial robotic equipment.
In New Business, a pair of members of the Childersburg Planning Commission, Larry Chaviers and Maria Griffitt, were reappointed for terms ending Oct. 28, 2029.
Council approval was given to hold the July 10, 2024 session of Municipal Court at the R.S. Limbaugh Community Center.
The council also approved an advertisement for the position of Childersburg Senior Center Director, with a closing date of Friday, July 12. Vickie Moody has held the position for several decades but will be retiring at the end of July.
Invoices were approved for payment in the amount of $504,062.49.
The next Childersburg City Council meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. At 5:00 p.m., Mayor Ken Wesson and the council will host a question and answer session with the Young Professionals of the Great Coosa Valley Chamber of Commerce.
