MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Gov. Kay Ivey has declared that all flags throughout the state will be flown at half-staff starting Monday morning until Wednesday evening in honor of Marc Gann and Adam Russell who lost their lives tragically after their Lifesaver 4 helicopter crashed Sunday afternoon, April 2.
Orders from Gov. Ivey state that flags will fly at half-staff from sunrise on Monday, April 10 until sunset on Wednesday, April 12.
“On behalf of the state of Alabama, I express my deepest sympathies to Marc and Adam’s families, friends and fellow first responder professionals,” Gov. Ivey remarked. “These remarkable men made the ultimate sacrifice to save their patient and will be remembered as heroes.”
While flags are at half-staff, both Russell and Gann’s funeral proceedings will take place.
Russell’s visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Monday, April 10, at Radney-Smith Funeral Home in Sylacauga. A full-honors procession will be held from Radney-Smith to Andrews Chapel Methodist Church in Hanover, and the funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m. at Andrews Chapel.
For Gann, visitation will also be on Wednesday, April 12, at Radney-Smith Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Another full-honors procession will take place from the funeral home to the Sylacauga Municipal Airport which is where the funeral will begin at 1:00 p.m.
