GOODWATER, Ala. – Goodwater Fire Department’s EMS Captain Brian Ward graduated from the Paramedic Program at the Regional Training Institute in Gardendale last Friday, Aug. 23, earning his National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians certification and Alabama Paramedic license from the Alabama Department of Public Health’s office.
The year-long paramedic program includes three semesters of classroom lectures and 405 hours of field and clinical internships.
With Ward’s certification, the Goodwater Fire Department is working toward becoming a paramedic-level service in Coosa County once again.
