SYLACAUGA, Ala. – In response to recent severe weather events across Talladega County, Area Real Estate is partnering with ABC 33/40 meteorologist Evan Chickvara to distribute weather radios to residents in need.

The giveaway and programming event will take place Wednesday, April 16, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce.

Organizers will provide 20 free weather radios to those without access to emergency alerts. Attendees are also encouraged to bring in existing radios for on-site programming.

The event, part of a broader severe weather awareness effort, aims to improve emergency preparedness following recent storms that impacted the area.

Admission is free and open to the public.
