TALLADEGA COUNTY, Ala. – Four people face drug trafficking charges following a series of arrests earlier this month by the Talladega County Drug and Violent Crime Task Force.
On Tuesday, Sept. 16, agents arrested Eric Ryan Rayfield at a residence on Kimberly Rd. in Sylacauga. Rayfield was wanted in Coosa County for violating probation from a 2024 drug case. Investigators reported seizing more than 38 grams of methamphetamine, marijuana, a pistol, and drug paraphernalia.
Rayfield was charged with trafficking methamphetamine, first-degree marijuana possession, possession of paraphernalia, and being a felon in possession of a firearm. His bond was set at $46,000.
The next day, deputies arrested Robert A. Fulmer, 31, and Latisha Danielle Thornberry outside the Talladega County Judicial Annex in Sylacauga.
Authorities said Fulmer fled a domestic violence hearing before being stopped on N Norton Ave., where deputies discovered about 56 grams of synthetic marijuana, along with smaller amounts of meth, marijuana, and smoking devices.
Both were charged with trafficking, possession of a controlled substance, second-degree marijuana possession, and possession of paraphernalia. Fulmer also faces an eluding charge. Bonds were set at $37,000 for Fulmer and $36,000 for Thornberry.
On Thursday, Sept. 18, undercover agents arrested Brittany Shaunta Martin, 35, of Center Point, after she allegedly tried to bribe someone she believed worked inside the jail to smuggle synthetic drugs.
She was charged with trafficking Spice, distribution, possession of paraphernalia, and bribery of a public servant.
All cases remain under investigation.
