SYLACAUGA, Ala. – West Fort Williams St. was the home of an armed robbery early Thursday morning.
According to Sylacauga Police Chief Kelley Johnson, the crime happened right around 7:00 at the Sunoco convenient store.
Johnson explained the perpetrator entered the store armed and left with an unknown amount of currency from the cash register. Johnson said no one was hurt in the act.
The suspect, who has yet to be identified, allegedly entered the store completely covered and fled the scene on foot, but police are not ruling out the possibility the suspect later fled in vehicle.
Johnson said his department is actively reviewing video surveillance recordings from the Sunoco and other cameras in the area to put together an accurate description of the suspect. Johnson said there is no description of the suspect available at this time.
