SYLACAUGA, Ala. – On Friday morning, former Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Mike Landers was arrested and booked on charges of fraudulently using Chamber of Commerce debit and credit cards under his own discretion without approval from the board of directors.
Landers was named Executive Director of the Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce in August 2015. SylacaugaNews.com reported Landers resigned in March 2017. He earlier served on a volunteer basis following the resignation of Executive Director Carol Bates at the end of 2014.
Born and raised in Fayetteville, a long-time Sylacauga resident, and a former attorney, Landers graduated from Fayetteville High School and earned degrees from the University of Alabama (BS, MS), the Harvard Kennedy School (MS), and the University of Alabama School of Law.
SylacaugaNews.com reached out to the Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber declined comment.
