SYLACAUGA, Ala. – First United Methodist Church (FUMC) in Sylacauga is introducing a new family ministry endeavor to the community starting in the new year on Wednesday, Jan. 10.
From 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the church’s fellowship hall, FUMC will host Messy Church — an all-age worship experience blending fun and faith — one Wednesday a month.
Messy Church will feature games, crafts, and science experiments, followed by a celebration time with songs, prayer, and storytelling, concluding with a shared meal.
The coordinator of the Messy Church movement is Ann Marie Pipkin, and she wants to invite the community to this unique, welcoming space taking shape in 2024.
“Messy Church is an all age worship experience that explores God’s love in an accessible way,” Pipkin explained.
The inaugural Messy Church on Jan. 10 will focus on the theme “All Aboard!” exploring worship, fellowship, and stewardship based on the Bible verse passage of Matthew 28:19-20.
