April’s First Responder of the Month is Kody Harrison of the County Line Volunteer Fire Department (VFD).
Harrison serves as the chief of the County Line VFD outside of his full-time job as a commercial truck driver for Heritage Freight. After working 10 to 14 hours a day, Harrison spends his off-time giving back to the community he loves.
He has helped with multiple volunteer first response units since 2006.
Now, Harrison oversees 30 other volunteers at the County Line VFD.
“It gives you that rewarding feeling inside when you’re able to help someone in their time of need,” Harrison said. “It makes you feel better to be able to help when someone else is having their worst day. It’s just neighbors helping neighbors.”
Thank you Kody Harrison for your service!
The First Responder of the Month is presented by Radney-Smith Funeral Home. Each First Responder of the Month receives a $50 VISA gift card from First Bank of Alabama.
