Fifty-nine counties in Alabama ranking very high risk on ADPH COVID-19 risk indicator dashboard

SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Fifty nine counties in Alabama are ranking in the very high risk category for spreading COVID-19.

According to the Alabama Department of Public Health’s COVID-19 risk indicator, there is a very high amount of COVID-19 activity in Talladega County placing it in the ‘red’ category.

Talladega County is currently reporting 8,705 positive COVID-19 cases since April 1. Talladega County has also reported a total of 185 deaths due to COVID-19.

The state of Alabama alone is currently reporting 565,510 positive COVID-19 cases. Alabama has recorded 11,468 deaths due to COVID-19 since April.

While residents across the state of Alabama continue to make strides against the COVID-19 pandemic, vaccination numbers are low compared to other states across the United States. Residents are encouraged to receive the vaccine.
