AUBURN, Ala. – Nine-year-old Granger Bulger, of Fayetteville, emerged as a standout at a June youth basketball camp hosted by Auburn head coach Bruce Pearl at Neville Arena.
The camp, designed for learning and competition, featured a roster of Auburn University graduate assistants, assistant coaches, trainers, current players, and former players.
Campers, divided into SEC West, SEC East, and NBA teams by age, engaged in a full agenda of activities each day.
Mornings began with welcoming speeches, agility stretches, exercises, and dribbling practice. Teams then rotated through skill-focused stations, followed by multiple scrimmages to apply their newly-acquired skills.
Throughout the camp, various shooting and dribbling competitions, such as Free Throw Knockout and Beat the Buzzer, kept the campers engaged.
The days concluded with a recap, words of encouragement, and the announcement of multiple awards, including Hustler of the Day, which Bulger received for his age division.
Coach Pearl personally addressed the campers on Monday, inspiring them to strive for excellence in all aspects of life. The camp concluded on Wednesday with intense competition, culminating in championship games and awards for top overall performers.
