FAYETTEVILLE, Ala. – The Fayetteville Wolves and Head Coach Matt Collier picked up what could be a decisive area series win over the Vincent Yellow Jackets last night.
Thursday evening, March 16, Fayetteville baseball hosted Vincent and picked up a close 6-5 victory.
After winning at Vincent on Tuesday, the Wolves knew that they needed to win one more to clinch the area matchup with Vincent, and things started off well in Game 2 when Kai Tubbs knocked in Fayetteville’s first run with an RBI groundout.
In the fourth inning, Fayetteville tacked on two more after a solo shot by Braydon Williams and an RBI single by Raley Curtis.
In a back-and-forth contest, both squads tallied at least ten hits. Collin Roland led the Wolves at the plate, going 3-4.
Right-hander Brady Butler started on the mound for Fayetteville. He gave up five runs on nine hits while recording two strikeouts.
With the games versus the Yellow Jackets settled, the Fayetteville Wolves will now turn their attention to the two other area rivals, B.B. Comer and Westminster School at Oak Mountain.
