FAYETTEVILLE, Ala. – On Tuesday, April 12, a student-run concert with country singer Adam Calvert will be held at Fayetteville High School (FHS).
The performance is facilitated by the Reach and Teach nonprofit organization.
Reach and Teach affords students the chance to “plan, promote, and execute a real concert on their school campus.” The educational program’s goal is to provide a real-world experience for the students to learn team-based skills such as teamwork, communication, and problem-solving in a work environment outside of the classroom.
FHS is one of seventeen schools in the Southeast that participates in the Reach and Teach program, and for this concert, the students will fully organize the planning, promotion, and execution of the production.
Nashville recording country artist Adam Calvert has partnered with Reach and Teach to provide the entertainment, and Fayetteville teacher Linda Terry has headed the efforts with the students to guide them through this process.
The concert will take place at 1:00 p.m. next Tuesday in the FHS gymnasium.
