MUNFORD, Ala. – A two-vehicle crash on Monday evening, June 9, claimed the life of a 29-year-old Eastoboga man, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
Benjamin A. Ricks was fatally injured when the 2020 Jeep Renegade he was driving collided head-on with a 2020 Freightliner tractor-trailer.
The crash occurred at approximately 7:35 p.m. on Hwy 21 near the 241-mile marker, less than a mile south of Munford.
Ricks was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Freightliner, Thomas B. Rudd, 42, of Sylacauga, was not reported injured.
Troopers with Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash. No further information was immediately available.
