Early Sunday morning storms left a lot of electric customers in the dark

CENTRAL, Ala. – Electric service providers have reported extensive power outages across Central Alabama on Sunday morning, June 8, after overnight and early morning storms passed through the region.

Crews surveyed the damage and restored power as quickly as possible, and in total, the following outage numbers were reported Sunday:

Tallapoosa County – 1,413

Clay County – 2,515

Talladega County – 2,583

Shelby County – 5,503
