LINCOLN, Ala. – Dovetail Landing will host a weekend filled with fun and community support for veterans, military members, first responders, and their families.
The event kicks off Friday, Oct. 11, with a Combat Dining Out at Lincoln’s Landing. Starting at 6:30 p.m., attendees will enjoy a lighthearted military dining experience, sharing in traditions of the mess hall.
The celebration continues Saturday, Oct. 12, with the “Ruckin’ for Recovery” 5-mile ruck march at 8:00 a.m. at Angler’s Pointe. Participants are encouraged to bring a 40-pound rucksack. Registration opens at 7:00 a.m. on-site, with no entry fee but donations appreciated.
Following the march, the Rockin’ for Recovery Fall Festival will begin at 11:00 a.m., also at Angler’s Pointe. The family-friendly event will include a Veterans’ Resource Fair, food vendors, a youth fishing derby, rock-climbing, and live music. The day will end with an afternoon concert and fireworks.
Partnering organizations include Challenge America, Central Alabama Community College, the Alabama Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Fishing Organization Inc., and more.
