SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The First Bank of Alabama Adult Lecture Series is set to conclude its Spring 2024 series with a burst of laughter as Dolores Hydock returns to the B. B. Comer Memorial Library for “Spring Cleaning.”

The event, scheduled for Wednesday, March 6, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., will combine lunchtime, humor, and storytelling all into one.

Hydock, an acclaimed actress and story performer, will take center stage in the Harry I. Brown Auditorium at noon. Doors will open at 11:30 a.m., with limited seating to adhere to social distancing guidelines.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their own sandwiches, while bottled water and pre-packed desserts from the Hickory Street Café will be provided. Safety remains a priority as masks are required upon entry, though they can be removed once seated.

Hydock, originally from Reading, Penn., boasts an extensive theatrical background, including performances in various one-woman plays. Her storytelling prowess has graced prestigious venues like the National Storytelling Festival in Jonesborough, Tenn.

In her spare time, Hydock tends to a diverse garden and reflects on her eclectic career journey, which includes stints as a blues DJ, au pair in Paris, and even portraying the Statue of Liberty in a Fourth of July pageant.
