SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Let’s build a snowman this March! SAFE’s Southern Dance & Performing Arts Company will present Disney’s Frozen, JR at Sylacauga High School, March 4-6 at 7:00 p.m. and March 7 at 2:30 p.m.
Tickets are available for purchase at www.sdpac.net for $15.Tickets can also be purchased at SAFE’s Southern Dance & Performing Arts Company, 109 N. Broadway Ave., Sylacauga. “Due to COVID-19 the 800 capacity of Sylacauga High School is limited to 100”, according to Amy McDonald, spokesperson for the production. “We are grateful to the Sylacauga Board of Education & Sylacauga High School for granting us permission to use their awesome facilities. I would encourage individuals not to delay purchasing their tickets, though – this show will sell out”, stated McDonald. Audience members are encouraged to get in on the “Frozen” fun by coming dressed as your favorite character.
The following precautionary measures COVID-19 measures have been put in place for the health of the audience and the dancers:
- Ticket sales are limited to 100 per performance for the 800-seat auditorium.
- Following Gov. Ivey’s mandate and Sylacauga City Schools regulation, attendees are asked to wear a mask at all times.
- Every other row will be left empty and at least two empty seats between each family/group.
The cast & crew of “Disney’s Frozen JR”, are volunteers organized by Director, J. Patrick McDonald, the musical theatre instructor at SAFE’s Southern Dance & Performing Arts Company. The actors in the production have a variety of experience and have committed themselves since January 4th to grueling rehearsals of singing, dancing, and acting to learn, polish, and perform this show.
Disney’s Frozen, JR. is based on the 2018 Broadway musical and brings Elsa, Anna, and the magical land of Arendelle to life onstage. The show features all of the memorable songs from the animated film, such as “Do You Want to Build a Snowman”, “For the First Time in Forever”, “In Summer” and the Oscar winning “Let It Go” to name a few, plus five new songs written for the Broadway production.
Southern Dance & Performing Arts, as a program of SAFE, is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to creating a solid & focused experience for each student – on & off stage – providing unique performing arts programs. Classes are offered in ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, lyrical, hip-hop, and musical theatre. The goal is to promote a hands-on experience in the arts, to all children, regardless of race, age, income or level of experience.
