SYLACAUGA, Ala. – On Wednesday, Direct Auto Insurance held its grand-opening celebration and ribbon cutting as it officially opened to the public.
It is located in the former Verizon Wireless office space in the Payton Plaza shopping center near Walmart.
Direct Auto Insurance, a new member to the Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce, currently has two full-time agents in the area, and expects to grow quickly.
“We are really excited to be here,” said Regional Sales and Marketing Manager Cindy Hartwig. “We are growing by leaps and bounds. I can barely keep track of how many stores we have.”
The company started with 20 locations in Alabama at the beginning of 2019, and expects to grow to 41 before the calendar year ends. It offers auto, life, renters and life insurance
“To have them in the city of Sylacauga and the products they offer is tremendous,” said Laura Strickland. Strickland is the executive director of the Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce. “We love welcoming new businesses and we are excited to work with Direct Auto Insurance and share their products with this region.”
City officials are excited to have a new business in town as well.
“The building they are in wasn’t vacant very long, and now we get a nice insurance company to move in,” said Mayor Jim Heigl. “It’s wonderful to have these businesses coming to Sylacauga. We are happy they chose Sylacauga.”
On the Direct Auto Insurance Facebook page, famed quarterback Johnny Manziel can be seen as the spokesperson for the company.
