SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The Coosa Valley Medical Center Auxiliary is contagious – in a good way.
CVMC Auxilians selflessly donate up to 14,000 hours of their time each year to support the hospital. Whether they work in the gift shop, Ancillary/Surgery waiting area, information booth in the main lobby, delivering flowers, serving as a transporter for our patients, or provide spiritual support and beverages to our families in the waiting areas, the Auxiliary at Coosa Valley Medical Center provides a special caring touch to our services and sets the culture in the hospital.
Since 1982, members of the auxiliary, in their pink and red outfits, have donated over 460,000 hours of their time to serving Coosa Valley Medical Center.
On Tuesday, like it does once every year, CVMC honored the members of the auxiliary with the annual awards banquet. In the last year, members donated 11,276 hours.
At the banquet members are fed by Hickory Street Cafe and enjoy a time to celebrate each other’s accomplishments. The big story of the day was Montine Webb. Over the years, Webb has accumulated 36,000 hours of service to CVMC. That amounts to 8-percent of all auxiliary hours.
