SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The Pinecrest Elementary crossing guard that was hit by a vehicle in February has died.
The death was announced by Radney-Smith Funeral Home.
According to the Sylacauga Police Department, 64-year-old Ronald Dale Golden, a city-employed crossing guard, was struck at his post by a 2010 Kia Forte driven by a 22-year-old unnamed female on Feb. 20.
Just after the accident Golden was taken to Coosa Valley Medical Center and later transferred to UAB Hospital in Birmingham.
Golden spent two months in UAB Hospital’s critical care unit before passing on May 1.
Golden will be laid to rest today.
