SYLACAUGA, Ala. – An event from Sylacauga’s past, Crazy Dayz, is making a grand comeback this Saturday, May 20, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in downtown Sylacauga, thanks to the efforts of the Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce.

Sponsored by Central Alabama Community College, this fun-filled summer extravaganza promises to be a highlight of the season.

Broadway Ave. and Norton Ave. will be bustling with activity as downtown merchants showcase their sidewalk sales and specials, offering a fantastic opportunity for shoppers to gear up for the summer season.

That’s not all—there’s something for the little ones too!

The Kidz Zone, located beside First Bank of Alabama, will feature exciting attractions like Touch-a-Truck, Foam Frenzy, and various sidewalk vendors.

Touch-a-Truck, sponsored by First Bank of Alabama, will bring an array of vehicles for children to explore, including fire trucks, police cars, tractors, and even a race car.

Meanwhile, Foam Frenzy, presented by Odena Baptist Church, will delight kids with an abundance of bubbles, complete with a refreshing hose-down from the Sylacauga fire truck.

Additionally, the Kids Zone will offer balloon artists, face tattoos, prizes, and mouthwatering food from local vendors.

Heritage South Credit Union will also join the festivities by distributing “Chamber Bucks” to lucky shoppers, so keep an eye out for their presence throughout downtown.

Laura Strickland, President and CEO of the Sylacauga Chamber, expressed her excitement for reviving this cherished tradition, saying, “I always looked forward to saving my money as a child for Crazy Dayz. It was such a fun time for the community to come together and enjoy what our downtown area has to offer. This year, I am thrilled to bring back Crazy Dayz and provide some good family fun.”

To conclude the day with a flourish, Sylacauga Parks and Recreation invites everyone to Fairmont Park at 6:30 p.m. for a free Movie in the Park.
