CHILDERSBURG, Ala. – Every two minutes a child will enter foster care in the Unites States, and there are thousands of children in foster care right here in the state of Alabama.
This time of year, while special to the majority of us, may not be as special for children being fostered while they wait for a permanent home. That is why Coosa Pines Federal Credit Union has its ‘Giving Tree.’
The Giving Tree helps make wishes come true for local foster children. The credit union partners with DHR in Talladega, Coosa, Clay and St. Clair counties to make Christmas special for 150 foster children.
The best part is, every donation to the Giving Tree is 100% matched by Coosa Pines Federal Credit Union. Last year, the Giving Tree raised over $10,000. This year, CPFCU hopes to raise even more.
“The Giving Tree is the most important thing we do every year. Its representative of what a local, community credit union should be for the communities it serves,” said Aimee Morris. Morris is the director of marketing for Coosa Pines Federal Credit Union. “All of our branches love participating, because it really does help make Christmas special for these children.”
Every branch of the credit union is open for donations. CPFCU has branches in Sylacauga, Childersburg, Vincent, Chelsea and Pell City.
