SYLACAUGA, Ala. – COVID-19 numbers are running rampant in the state of Alabama.
According to the Alabama Department of Public Health’s COVID-19 risk indicator, there is a significant amount of COVID-19 activity in Talladega County placing them in the high risk category.
Talladega County is currently reporting 4,474 positive COVID-19 cases. A total of 760 cases have been confirmed just in the last two weeks. Talladega County has reported a total of 64 deaths due to COVID-19.
According to healthcare officials, a large portion of positive cases are being reported among individuals 25-49 years of age.
There are currently 29,259 total hospitalizations across the state.
Alabama is under a mask ordinance until Jan. 22 to help slow the spread of the virus.
