HomeCOVID-19COVID-19 cases rise in Talladega CountyCOVID-19 cases rise in Talladega CountyMon, July 13, 2020 by SylacaugaNews.com Digital TeamSHARE NOW SYLACAUGA, Ala. -The state of Alabama continues to trend upward in the number of positive Coronavirus cases being reported.Talladega County now has 417 positive cases, recording seven deaths, which is relatively low compared to other counties throughout the state.Coosa Valley Medical Center announced an uptick in COVID-19 activity.CVMC has completed 412 COVID-19 tests, with 38 patients testing positive. Five patients are hospitalized as of Monday morning.“We urge everyone to wash your hands, wear masks in public, keep your hands away from your face and continue to practice six-feet social distancing,” said CVMC community outreach coordinator Lindsay Johns.According to the Alabama Department of Public Health, Jefferson County now has the most cases in the state, with 6,823 COVID-19 cases.The state of Alabama has now recorded 54,768 positive cases, with 1,096 deaths.For more information about COVID-19, click here.
