SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Sylacauga’s state-of-the-art wound treatment center held its grand-opening center earlier today.
Coosa Valley Wound Care Center officially opened in May, but held a grand-opening celebration with the community to show off its facility. Many members throughout the community attended including elected officials, local business owners, chambers executives and Coosa Valley Medical Center executives.
Quincy Leach serves as nurse practitioner and heads up day-to-day operations and Regina Phillips serves as its specialist. The two have combined for over 50 years in the medical field.
Coosa Valley Wound Care offers the medical standard in wound care and is backed by Healogics, the nation’s largest provider of advanced wound care services, treating more than 330,000 patient admissions annually.
“We’re committed to the health of this community, that’s actually part of our mission statement,” said Leach. “So, it’s very important and very fitting that we are associated with Coosa Valley Medical Center.”
By using the techniques from Healogics, the clinic never has to guess about a treatment. “Healogics provides us with the training and evidence-based medicine, so everything we do when we treat a wound has been shown to be effective through research,” Phillips said. “We don’t do things we think are right. We know that we have the appropriate treatment based on research and the data.”
