SYLACAUGA, Ala. – In 2024, the Coosa Valley Rescue Squad received a $1,000 grant from the Talladega County Volunteer Program to support its “Inclement Weather Project.”
With the funding, the squad purchased two STIHL chainsaws, protective cases, bar oil, gas, and safety gloves. The new equipment will help clear roadways of debris and downed trees caused by severe weather, improving emergency response efforts.
The rescue squad also marked a milestone as the first STIHL customer at 280 Power Equipment, one of Sylacauga’s newest businesses.
“A huge thank you to the Coosa Valley Rescue Squad for being our first STIHL customer,” 280 Power Equipment said in a statement on social media. “We’re proud to serve those who serve our community.”
The Coosa Valley Rescue Squad continues to provide essential emergency services throughout Sylacauga and the Coosa Valley area.
