SYLACAUGA, Ala. – In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, Coosa Valley Medical Center will host the next Community Links titled “Nurturing Mental Health in Our Golden Years: Aging Gracefully” on Monday, May 5.
The event will take place at the Harry I. Brown Auditorium inside the B.B. Comer Memorial Library.
A catered lunch from Hickory Street Cafe will be served at 11:00 a.m., followed by a presentation at 12:00 p.m. featuring Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, Lindsey Wesson and Master of Social Work, Misty Swain.
The program will highlight common mental health challenges and ways to recognize emotional distress, emphasizing the importance of support across all ages and backgrounds.
In addition, Coosa Valley Medical Center will introduce its newest OB/GYN, Dr. Saul J. Weinreb, during a meet and greet from 11:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
The event seeks to promote community understanding and encourage support for mental health across all stages of life.
