TALLADEGA, Ala. – Lucas Browning, an energy services representative at Coosa Valley Electric Cooperative, has earned his Key Accounts certification from the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association, the utility announced on Monday, Nov. 17.
The certification recognizes advanced training in supporting large commercial and industrial members. To earn it, Browning completed online coursework, passed an exam, and developed both a business plan and a member engagement plan for key accounts.
“Lucas’ Key Accounts certification strengthens his already impressive skill set and enhances our cooperative’s ability to support the industries and businesses that drive our local economy,” Jon Cullimore, Coosa Valley Electric Cooperative’s General Manager, said in a statement. “He consistently demonstrates professionalism, dedication and a genuine commitment to serving our members.”
Browning said the program deepened his ability to act as a relationship manager and energy advisor, helping major customers anticipate needs and make informed decisions that benefit operations.
In addition to managing key accounts, Browning leads several member-focused initiatives, including free energy audits for homes and businesses. He also oversees the cooperative’s electric vehicle rebate program and two heat pump–focused rebate programs for manufactured and site-built homes.
Helping members improve efficiency and reduce energy costs is what motivates him, Browning said.
“I regularly have the opportunity to make someone’s life a little easier, and that’s what makes this work so meaningful.”
