CHILDERSBURG, Ala. – Coosa Pines Federal Credit Union has made a significant investment in the future of our community, granting $24,000 in scholarships to 2024 high school graduates. These scholarships are not just financial aid but a gateway to higher education at accredited institutions. Each of the 24 recipients, who will be attending college or trade school in the fall, has been awarded $1,000.00 to support their academic journey.
“At Coosa Pines, we are not just a financial institution but a community partner. We are dedicated to enhancing the communities we serve by providing scholarships to support outstanding students in pursuing their educational aspirations,” shared CEO Don Carden. “These scholarships are a testament to our belief in the power of education and our commitment to fostering personal and civic responsibility.”
The scholarship recipients were from eleven local high schools. These students demonstrated academic excellence and a deep understanding of the credit union’s values of personal and civic responsibility. In her essay, Maya Vincent of Childersburg High School eloquently expressed the credit unions’ “people helping people” philosophy. “Acts of kindness can inspire others to do the same, creating a chain reaction of goodness,” Vincent wrote. “It’s all about spreading love and making a difference, one person at a time!”
Coosa Pines has been awarding scholarships to deserving students for over a decade. Membership in the credit union is required but free for preschool through college students. It can be obtained at any branch or on the website CoosaPinesFCU.org by clicking the “Join Now” link.
