SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Amateur photographers around the area are invited to participate in the 2023 Isabel Anderson Comer Museum and Arts Center’s annual photo contest.
This competition is open to individuals who do not earn their income primarily from photography, including talented students under the age of 18.
There are no limitations on style, theme, or editing, but participants must ensure their artwork does not exceed 30 inches in any direction and is printed on paper or canvas.
Traditional or phone-taken photos are allowed, but computer-generated graphics will not be accepted.
A panel of three photographers/artists will judge based on creativity, originality, and beauty, with identifying marks covered during the voting phase.
There is no limit to the number of submissions permitted. The first entry will cost $25, and additional ones are $5 each.
Prizes of $100, $75, and $50 await the top three in each category.
Friday, Aug. 25, is the deadline for all submissions.
The selected artwork will be showcased in September, and the winners will be announced at the artists’ reception on Thursday, Sept. 21, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
